 At St. James A.M.E. Church Gravel Hill, our ministries are the heartbeat of our mission to serve God and uplift the community. From spiritual growth to outreach initiatives, each ministry provides opportunities to connect, grow, and make a meaningful impact. Together, we strive to live out our faith by meeting the needs of our members and neighbors with love, compassion, and purpose.

Usher Board

The purpose of the Usher Board Ministry is to serve as Doorkeepers and representatives of the Church. Our mission is to welcome and direct parishioners, and ensure proper order is kept at all times. We will treat all parishioners with kindness, tact and courtesy at all times. 

Young Peoples Division - YPD

Provides meaningful youth training programs and opportunities for leadership experience in all areas of church life. By providing training in  Evangelism, Christian Social Relations, and Education programs the YPD is designed to connect youth more fully to the mission of the church and increase knowledge of the African Methodist Episcopal Church history and the scriptures.

Media Ministry

Responsible for the Audio Visual maintenance, set up and operation.

Manages, updates and monitors the church’s website and Facebook, Instagram and Twitter social media platforms.
